What attendees had to say about the 2011-12 Season:
From Participants
Saturday night, I was at a social gathering and someone must have said something negative about Muslims and I heard my cousin say, ‘I used to feel that way, but since I have gone to the NISE events, I have come to realize that it is the few extremists that cause the trouble and give them a bad name. The people I have met in NISE are wonderful and want the same things for their families that we do.’
After attending NISE, I understand that the Muslim religion is not an evil belief. It is on par with Judaism, Christianity, Baha’i and all of the other world religions. The problem we have here in America is that we have based our views on a minority of Muslim zealots and terrorists of that religion who are causing the fear we hold. It does not represent all Muslims. I think, over time, we have had all religions on postal stamps so I don’t have a problem with this new one. It keeps it on par with other stamps they have printed i.e. Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Christmas. We have to get over the fear that a few have caused and not blame the entire Muslim world for the acts of a few. If America is the melting pot of ethnicity, then we have to accept the religions they bring to this country as well. Just my take on the issue; it is a sensitive issue, not doubt.— A friend of an attendee who had received a negative chain mail about the 46¢ stamp commemorating Eid
It’s so great to be in a safe place to hear about other faiths.
The small group discussions are my favorite part! And they aren’t even scary!”
Can’t wait to see what NISE comes up with next!
So Kiss Me Already, Hershel Gertz may have been about a 15 year old, but as a 50 plus widow, and my friend divorced at 60 … we realized many of our current life circumstances parallel the actors!
The small groups were wonderful!
I liked getting to talk to people from different backgrounds.
Small group was AWESOME!
Great seeing a more diverse group of people learning about different religions.
When I hear what you are doing with NISE I think about what God, what Jesus is thinking. Clapping, high fiving, laughing! God is happy!

I like the interaction with people of all the other different faiths.
How can we love our neighbor if we don’t even know them?

We’re so grateful NISE exists!
I am so impressed that a church will host these types of conversations. Thank you.”
